The Garey Park: The Gift of a Lifetime
Alan Jack Garey passed away march 18, 2022 at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his wife, Camille (Cammy) Blackmore Garey, in 2012. Before their passing, Jack and Cammy donated their beloved 525 acre ranch to the city of Georgetown along with $5 million for the establishment of Garey Park in 2004.
Jack and Cammy were very generous to local worthy causes and donated an additional $21 million from Jack's estate to the Garey Park Fund at Chisholm Trail Communities Foundation in 2022 to further develop Garey Park.
The gift was the largest gift in the history of the City. On behalf of all of Georgetown, a heartfelt THANK YOU TO THE GAREY FAMILY! Your exceedingly generous gift will stand forever as a monument to a great and generous family. CTCF is very proud to have a role in the completion of this wonderful park.
